Boyle Heights, Los Angeles, CA: Firefighters battled a structure blaze early Friday morning at a site of at least four previous burns, according to the Los Angeles Fire Department.
LAFD arrived to the reported fire just before 2:00 a.m., May 19, on the 400 block of South Boyle Avenue in the Boyle Heights neighborhood of Los Angeles.
Firefighters immediately fought the blaze defensively as heavy flames extended out of the second floor and attic of a vacant two-story Craftsman style home.
A crew of 50 LAFD firefighters achieved knockdown in 36 minutes in mainly defensive firefighting operations, stated the department.
LAFD reported that firefighters prevented all but minor damage to one of the adjacent threatened structures.
No injuries were reported. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
