Woman Escorts Family of Geese Across Busy Magic Mountain Parkway

Stevenson Ranch, Los Angeles County, CA: A woman abandoned her SUV on the side of the road to save a family of geese crossing busy Magic Mountain Parkway, the road leading to Six Flags Magic Mountain, as park guests poured out of the theme park just after 6:30 p.m. Thursday, May 25.

The woman said she had to do something when she noticed vehicles weren’t stopping to allow the animals to cross. She felt the geese would be hit by a car and took it upon herself to halt motoring traffic and provide them a human shield as they sought safety.

This comes after 41-year-old Casey Rivara was killed earlier this week while enacting the same gesture of kindness in Rocklin, California.

Charlize Glass, a Santa Clarita resident and the woman seen escorting the geese family of three across the busy street in Stevenson Ranch, told Key News Network that she was just freaking out when she saw the geese. Glass said she sees ducks and geese crossing roads all the time and thought “not again” when she saw the trio.

Glass was in the process of moving and her car was full, but felt she had to stop and help.

“If I just drove and went home, it would have been playing on my mind literally for the rest of the night … that I couldn’t of like taken five minutes out of my day … I just had to help,” she said.

“Be a better human, just save someone else,” said Glass.
