Suspect Barricades After Allegedly Using Vehicle to Assault Police Officer

STUDIO CITY, LOS ANGELES, June 20 (KNN) – A driver allegedly used their vehicle to assault a police officer, then led police on a chase in Studio City before barricading inside the vehicle.

Around 2 a.m. Tuesday, the Los Angeles Police Department requested backup for an individual that was revving his engine and smashing into a police car on the 12900 block of Valleyheart Drive.

The suspect lead the LAPD on a chase around the Studio City area before stopping near Ventura Boulevard and Blue Canyon Drive.

The LAPD requested SWAT officers to the location where the suspect barricaded inside their vehicle.

LAPD fired beanbag rounds into the vehicle, but were ineffective in removing the suspect from the car.

At the time of this report, the situation was still ongoing.
