2 Struck by Gunfire as Suspects Shoot Into Vehicle

BALDWIN HILLS, LOS ANGELES, June 21 (KNN) – A man and woman inside a Mercedes were shot by suspects Wednesday night in the Baldwin Hills neighborhood of Los Angeles.

The couple was seated in a silver Mercedes at approximately 11:45 p.m. on the 4000 block of Gelber Place when unknown suspects carrying pistols and rifles discharged over 30 rounds into their vehicle.

They were both struck by gunfire, but were able to drive to the McDonald’s at Obama and La Brea where they called for help.

The female victim was transported by Los Angeles Fire Department firefighter/paramedics to a local hospital in unknown condition, and the male was assessed and released at the scene.

The Los Angeles Police Department’s Southwest Division is handling the investigation.

Multiple bullet holes were observed in the front and rear windshield, in addition to multiple bullet holes in the body of the vehicle.

Pistol and rifle casings were seen on Gelber Place where the shooting took place.

There is no suspect description at this time.
