Over 2-Hour Long CHP Pursuit Ends in Crash, Suspect in Custody

SAN GABRIEL, LOS ANGELES COUNTY, June 23 (KNN) – A vehicle with expired registration led the California Highway Patrol on a chase lasting over two hours before a crash rendered the vehicle disabled.

CHP units attempted to stop a black Ford F150 pickup truck for expired registration. The driver failed to stop, prompting CHP officers to initiate a pursuit that lasted about 2 1/2 hours onto multiple freeways and cities.

The suspect exited at Baldwin Avenue around 2 a.m. and crashed into the right shoulder causing his tire to go flat. The suspect vehicle came to a stop on the rim at North San Gabriel Boulevard and Bevan Street in the city of San Gabriel.

The suspect was taken into custody by CHP and San Gabriel police officers.
