Violent 2-Vehicle Crash Leaves Multiple Victims Injured

SYLMAR, LOS ANGELES, June 28 (KNN) — Three people were rushed to trauma centers after a violent crash involving a car and an SUV traveling on Interstate 5 in the Sylmar area of Los Angeles.

Shortly before 12:15 p.m., a Scion xA subcompact and Lexus SUV collided and landed on a Los Angeles city street below.

The two were apparently traveling on southbound lanes of Interstate 5 about a half-mile short of Roxford Street when the crashed resulted in the vehicles coming to a rest on the 13200 block of North Sepulveda Boulevard, outside the Los Angeles Department of Water and Power’s Van Norman reservoir and Jensen treatment plant.

Six people were evaluated at the scene with three being rushed to hospitals. One person was trapped inside the Scion xA and transported to a trauma center in critical condition, according to the Los Angeles City Fire Department.

Two people were transported in serious condition, the department said.

The crash remains under investigation by the California Highway Patrol’s Newhall office.
