Fireworks Possible Cause of 2 Car Fires

WESTLAKE, LOS ANGELES, July 4 (KNN) — The Los Angeles Fire Department achieved a quick knockdown on two cars that were set on fire by possible fireworks Tuesday night.

LAFD personnel responded to a reported structure fire at approximately 9:36 p.m. on the 200 block of North Lake Street in the Westlake District.

Upon arrival, firefighters located two vehicles exposing a commercial building. Crews also had to resolve a gas leak from one of the vehicles, causing burning gasoline to flow downhill.

The fire was extinguished shortly after 10 p.m. with 24 firefighters at the scene, reported LAFD.

Witnesses stated off-camera the fire was possibly started by fireworks in the area.
