Teen Shot During Fireworks in Santa Clarita

CANYON COUNRTY, SANTA CLARITA, CA, July 4 (KNN) — A teenager was shot outside an apartment complex in Santa Clarita’s Canyon Country neighborhood late Tuesday night.

The shooting occurred on the 27300 block of Fahren Court shortly before 10:30 p.m.

The teen male was shot as fireworks rang out in the neighborhood, leading to some confusion among neighbors.

Deputies were canvassing the area for clues and reported over the radio that the suspect shouted “Newhall” at the teen, referencing another neighborhood within Santa Clarita.

The teen was rushed to a trauma center in unknown condition.

The suspect(s) remains outstanding.
