Fireworks Apparent Cause of Brush Fire in Porter Ranch

PORTER RANCH, LOS ANGELES, July 5 (KNN) — A brush fire erupted overnight in the Porter Ranch neighborhood within the city of Los Angeles.

The Los Angeles City Fire Department was dispatched to the area of the 11900 block of Reseda Boulevard at approximately 1 a.m. Wednesday for a reported grass fire.

The caller who reported the blaze stated the fire was started by an individual setting off fireworks in the area.

About a 1/4-acre of grass had burned. LAFD knocked down the flames.
