Burglary Suspects Toss Objects During Pursuit, Arrested After Fleeing Smoking Vehicle

FONTANA, CA, July 10 (KNN) — Monrovia police and California Highway Patrol officers were on a wild pursuit of burglary suspects that spanned multiple freeways early Monday morning.

Monrovia PD responded to a burglary at a business in their city, and once officers arrived on scene, they noticed a Chevy Impala leave the business at high speeds.

The alleged suspects led Monrovia PD on a pursuit throughout multiple freeways and at one point, they threw objects out the window from the speeding vehicle.

CHP took over the pursuit eastbound on the 10 Freeway at Azusa Avenue in the city of West Covina.

The suspect vehicle started smoking on the eastbound 10 Freeway around Cherry Avenue in the city of Fontana.

The suspects exited the freeway at Citrus Avenue from the 10 Freeway in Fontana, where they dumped the vehicle and took off on foot on Valley Boulevard just east of Citrus Avenue.

A CHP officer was seen with one suspect in custody as other officers chased the second suspect who attempted to run from the scene.

CHP was able to take two suspects into custody around 3:15 a.m. Monrovia PD was on the scene and ultimately took both suspects into their custody.
