3 Wounded in Violent Stabbings During Verbal Altercation in Long Beach

LONG BEACH, CA, July 10 (KNN) — Three adults were wounded and one person is in custody after brutal stabbings during a verbal altercation in Long Beach early Monday morning.

The Long Beach Police Department received a 911 call shortly before 12:30 a.m. regarding someone actively being stabbed in an alley along the 300 block of West 14th Street.

Arriving officers located three people suffering from stab wounds with a possible suspect at the location.

Officers detained the suspect at gunpoint at the scene. Meanwhile, two males sustained major stab wounds and were heavily bleeding while being transported to area trauma centers in critical condition.

A female victim sustained superficial wounds and was also transported.

Long Beach PD reported the stabbings occurred during a verbal altercation between friends and family members residing at a residence at the reported location. The stabbing involved a male adult suspect, a male adult victim and a female adult victim. All three sustained lacerations to their upper bodies.

The Long Beach Police Department is actively investigating the incident.
