Sidewalk Trash Fire Scorches Downtown Jewelry Business

DOWNTOWN LOS ANGELES, July 11 (KNN) — A sidewalk trash fire scorched the front of a jewelry business in Downtown Los Angeles overnight.

The Los Angeles Fire Department was dispatched to a reported structure fire on the 1000 block of San Pedro Street at approximately 12:39 a.m. Tuesday.

When crews arrived on scene, they found an outside trash fire spreading to the Bella & Company jewelry business.

Damage was mitigated to just the storefront.

The flames were knocked down in just a few minutes by LAFD. Charred debris was observed scattered along the sidewalk directly in front of the business.

It was unclear exactly how the fire started.
