Firefighters Extinguish Flames Engulfing Crashed Vehicle on 5 Freeway

BOYLE HEIGHTS, LOS ANGELES, July 12 (KNN) – A crashed, burning vehicle was discovered on the 5 Freeway early Wednesday morning.

The Los Angeles Fire Department responded to reports of a vehicle fire shortly after 2:30 a.m. on the southbound 5 Freeway at 4th Street in Boyle Heights.

When units arrived on scene, they located a wrecked Mercedes fully-engulfed in flames up an embankment with surrounding brush on fire.

The fire was extinguished in approximately ten minutes and the vehicle was found to be unoccupied.
