Small Brush Fire Burns in Boyle Heights Near 10 Freeway

BOYLE HEIGHTS, LOS ANGELES, July 13 (KNN) — A small brush fire burned Thursday morning between the 10 Freeway and the 1400 block of Bridge Street in the Boyle Heights area of Los Angeles.

The Los Angeles Fire Department responded shortly before 1:30 a.m. to the location and found approximately one acre of burning brush moving up hill toward homes.

Firefighters were able to get hand lines in place and achieve a quick knockdown.

California Highway Patrol officers briefly shut down the 10 Freeway and held one lane while crews worked to extinguish the fire.
