West Covina Carport Fire Consumes 3 Vehicles

WEST COVINA, CA, July 13 (KNN) — Three vehicles were destroyed in an early morning carport fire within an apartment complex in West Covina.

The West Covina Fire Department and Los Angeles County firefighters responded to a multi-vehicle fire underneath a carport shortly before 2:30 a.m. at an apartment complex on the 1800 block of East Thelborn Street near North Azusa Avenue.

Once firefighters arrived on scene, they located a total of three vehicles fully engulfed in flames underneath a carport with flames spreading to a dumpster.

Most of the residents were able to get their vehicles out of the carport area before the fire spread.

Firefighters contained the blaze to the burning carport and successfully doused the fire.

The apartment complex did not sustain any damage from the flames. The cause of the fire is unknown at this time and under investigation.
