Chemical Spill Impacts 60 Freeway, Sig Alert Issued

CHINO, CA, July 14 (KNN) — A chemical spill impacted the 60 Freeway early Friday morning with multiple containers observed scattered across lanes.

The California Highway Patrol and the Chino Valley Fire District responded to a chemical spill at approximately 3:10 a.m. on the eastbound 60 Freeway just before Central Avenue in the city of Chino.

It was not immediately clear what type of chemical spilled on the freeway.

Multiple containers are seen on four of the five lanes in Key News Network video from the scene.

CHP had all lanes temporary stopped. A Sig Alert was issued for unknown amount of time.

KNN contacted the CHP regarding the type of chemical spilled, however, that information was unavailable.

KNN has also reached out to the Chino Valley Fire District regarding the chemical spill. This report will be updated if further information becomes available..
