SANTA CLARITA, CA, July 15 (KNN) — A pedestrian was struck and killed by at least one vehicle Saturday evening on the 14 Freeway in Santa Clarita.
A big rig driver contacted the California Highway patrol shortly after 8 p.m. and stated a pedestrian jumped in front of the big rig on the northbound 14 Freeway south of Sand Canyon Road and the pedestrian was down in the slow lane with a major head injury. The big rig driver was able to continue driving after CHP took his statement and information, while another vehicle at the scene was towed away and appeared to have struck the pedestrian.
The coroner arrived and transported the pedestrian around 10:30 p.m. from the scene.
Two lanes of traffic were blocked off. The CHP declined to give a statement on-camera regarding the fatal incident.
