Hit-and-Run Collision Leaves Pedestrian Injured, Suspect Apprehended

HOLLYWOOD, LOS ANGELES, July 16 (KNN) — A pedestrian was struck by a vehicle overnight and witnesses’ description of the fleeing vehicle helped police locate the alleged suspect.

The Los Angeles Police Department’s Hollywood Division units responded to a call around 12:28 a.m. Sunday, of a vehicle versus pedestrian traffic collision at the intersection of Hollywood Boulevard and La Brea Avenue in Hollywood.

Witnesses reported seeing a white Kia strike the pedestrian and flee the scene. LAPD air support spotted the vehicle on the eastbound 10 Freeway and alerted units.

A short pursuit ensued and the suspect was apprehended without further incident.

The pedestrian was transported to a local hospital in unknown condition.
