The incident unfolded shortly before 9:30 p.m. when the Orange County Fire Authority received reports of a sinking vessel off the coast of Seal Beach near Ocean and Dolphin Avenues.

According to a department source, a boat occupied by two people ran into the rock jetty. The two people were able to get onto the jetty wall and await OCFA, Long Beach FD and Seal Beach lifeguard rescuers to arrive by boat to bring them back to land.

One of the victims had difficulty breathing while the other complained of having difficulty walking, with both suffering various scrapes and abrasions. Both were transported to a nearby hospital in fair condition.

The boat is reportedly fully submerged about a half mile off shore at the end of the rock jetty.

It is unclear if recovery efforts of the vessel will be arranged anytime soon.
