Police Investigate Death of Person Found in Parking Lot of Business

SIMI VALLEY, CA, July 21 (KNN) — A person was discovered with a fatal gunshot wound near a vehicle in a parking lot of a business early Friday morning.

Simi Valley police officers responded to a 911 call from a passerby who had stumbled upon a victim down with a gunshot wound next to a pickup truck in the parking lot of Citibank on the 2800 block of East Cochran Street in Simi Valley.

The subject was pronounced deceased at the scene.

Upon further investigation, detectives and Crime Scene Investigators have determined the gunshot wound was self-inflicted. Additional investigation was conducted by the coroner’s office.

There are no other victims or threats to public safety, according to the Simi Valley Police Department.
