The Los Angeles Fire Department responded to a reported structure fire around 2:17 a.m. at a residence in the 2300 block of North Coral Street in the Lincoln Heights neighborhood of Los Angeles.

While crews were en route, they were advised the fire was spreading to the hillside behind the residence.

LAFD reported the structure was a three-story descending hillside home with fire showing. Firefighters initially ascended ladders to the roof for vertical ventilation and made entry to find fire on all three levels and in the attic.

Crews had difficulty accessing the fire due to narrow streets blocked by vehicles and a lack of nearby fire hydrants.

At 3:45 a.m., the LAFD reported a total of 73 firefighters were at the scene when knockdown was achieved in 88 minutes from the start of battling the flames.

One firefighter came into contact with electricity and was transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. No other injuries were reported.

The cause of the fire is currently under investigation.
