Suspect Killed in Deputy-Involved Shooting at Gas Station

CARSON, CA, Aug. 7 (KNN) — A man was shot and killed by Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department deputies at a Chevron Gas Station Monday morning around 2:20 a.m., prompting a massive closure of the Central Avenue Shopping area just south of the 91 Freeway.

Deputies were detaining a man at gunpoint in the 17000 block of Central Avenue in Carson, who was believed to be armed.

At one point, deputies opened fire on the suspect.

Los Angeles County Fire Department paramedics arrived and pronounced the suspect deceased at the scene.

There is no further information available at this time until the sheriff’s department completes their initial investigation into the deputy-involved shooting and releases a statement regarding the incident.
