SANTA MONICA MOUNTAINS, CA, Aug. 10 (KNN) — A male was rescued after his vehicle plunged down a hillside off a winding road in the Santa Monica Mountains late Wednesday night.
The California Highway Patrol along with Los Angeles County firefighters and sheriff’s rescue personnel responded to a reported vehicle approximately 300 feet down over the side of the roadway around 11:20 p.m. on the 1400 block of Stunt Road in the Santa Monica Mountains.
When first responders arrived, they located one male over the side of the road honking the horn in his vehicle.
The LACoFD used a rope rescue to bring the injured party back up to the roadside. The male was walked over to a nearby waiting ambulance and then transported to a local hospital in unknown condition.
CHP and the sheriff’s department are investigating the cause of the crash.
