Abandoned House in Midst of Remodeling Burns in Monrovia

MONROVIA, CA, July 10 (KNN) — Firefighters fought flames in an abandoned home early Monday morning in Monrovia.

Monrovia police officers and the Monrovia Fire Department along with the Arcadia and the Los Angeles County fire departments responded to a house fire shortly before 1 a.m. on the 200 block of East Fig Avenue.

Once officers and firefighters arrived on scene, they located an abandoned house that was being remodeled, with fire and smoke showing from the roof.

Firefighters immediately went into defensive mode to fight the flames and had the fire knocked down within an hour of receiving the call.

The cause of the fire is unknown at this time.
