Alleged Suspect Arrested in Connection to East Los Angeles Hit-and-Run Fatality

HOLLYWOOD, LOS ANGELES, May 8 (KNN) — The suspect wanted in connection to the hit-and-run fatality in East Los Angeles late Tuesday night, was taken into custody early Wednesday morning by authorities.

California Highway Patrol officers located the alleged suspect in the 700 block of North Manhattan Place in Hollywood where he was taken into custody around 1:10 a.m. Wednesday.

The suspect, described as a man in his late 20s, was arrested after a brief field sobriety test.

The CHP had located the suspect’s red Toyota Celica in lot 2 at Commerce Casino in the city of Commerce. The damage to the Toyota is indicative of a vehicle versus pedestrian collision.

This arrest relates to the suspect sought in our prior story regarding an East Los Angeles fatal hit-and-run collision that occurred Tuesday night, May 7, 2024, around 11 p.m.
