VICTORVILLE, Calif., Dec. 20 (KNN) – Amazon workers have been on strike throughout the busiest shipping week for holiday gifts.
They will continue to strike for various reasons, including fair pay, recognition as employees, and better working conditions.
Multiple workers on the picket line spoke on-camera to KNN Thursday afternoon about the harsh working conditions, experiences in which some employees have been left with scars via animal attacks, rude customers, or community members pulling weapons on said employees for reasons such as getting the wrong address or being on the property.
The strike is nationwide, and its primary purpose is to press Amazon to sign a labor agreement. The group feels unfairly treated.
Daniel, a driver at the Amazon location in Victorville, said they would like Amazon to recognize their union and negotiate a contract with them.
It’s unclear at this time how long the strike is predicted to last.
