Apparent Auto Repair Shop Burns in Lancaster

Lancaster, Los Angeles County, CA: A commercial business burned Thursday morning, Oct. 6, at approximately 10:29 a.m. in the city of Lancaster.

Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department with the Los Angeles County Fire Department received numerous 911 calls regarding a commercial fire at the intersection of Oldfield and Division streets.

Upon arrival, firefighters discovered what appeared to be an auto repair shop with heavy flames and smoke showing. Popping sounds were heard while the building burned, but the source was unknown. Numerous engines from various stations responded to the scene to fight the flames.

AMR Ambulance was placed on standby for any possible injuries, however it is unknown at this time if any injuries were reported.

Lancaster deputies blocked off numerous streets to traffic until the fire was knocked down.

It is unknown at this time what caused the fire. No further details are available.
