Los Angeles County Fire Department crews and Pomona police officers responded to a palm tree fire shortly after 1:30 a.m. on the 1300 block of Philips Boulevard.

Officers and firefighters arriving at the scene located large palm trees ablaze with extension to grass at an abandoned golf course nearby.

A neighbor who declined to speak on camera, said she heard loud fireworks and came outside to fire trucks and police cars.

The flames were successfully doused by firefighters.
