ARLETA, LOS ANGELES, Oct. 25 (KNN) — A traffic collision apparently sparked an altercation Tuesday night that ultimately led to a pedestrian being struck by a vehicle that fled the scene.
The Los Angeles Fire Department along with police officers were dispatched to the intersection of Beachy Avenue and Tera Bella Street in Arleta at approximately 11:47 p.m. for a traffic collision that involved assault with a deadly weapon and damage to property.
Information gathered from authorities initially indicates that a fight was in progress and one of the drivers was attempting to run over pedestrians with his vehicle.
Upon arriving on scene, firefighters found a male who was struck by the suspect vehicle, and promptly requested an ambulance.
Witnesses at the scene reported two vehicles got into a collision prior to the vehicle versus pedestrian altercation and were also fist fighting.
At least one of the vehicles fled the scene and the suspect is still outstanding at the time of this report.
The pedestrian was transported in an unknown condition to a local hospital.
The owner of the home where property damage was visible was not involved in the incident.
