Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department deputies and firefighters worked in tandem to search for the children over the course of three hours, ultimately combing about a mile of underground sewer and storm drains.

An urban search and rescue task force was called in to assist the crews on scene after Fire Station 73 requested a confined space rescue response.

After three hours, no one was found in the sewer, however, fresh footprints were located throughout the underground area.
