CASTAIC, CA, Aug. 9 (KNN) — A bear was struck and killed by vehicles traveling on the I-5 Freeway overnight in the Castaic area within Los Angeles County.
California Highway Patrol responded to reports of a bear that was struck by multiple vehicles around 1:38 a.m. Wednesday on the northbound I-5 Freeway, north of Templin Highway.
CHP located the bear and dragged him to the shoulder.
A vehicle was seen about a quarter mile ahead of the bear with traffic collision damage to the front hood.
CHP is handling the investigation.
