NORTHRIDGE, LOS ANGELES, Sept. 19 (KNN) — A bicyclist was struck and killed by a driver who fled the scene in Northridge Thursday evening.
The incident took place on the 8500 block of North Lindley Avenue at 9:20 p.m. Emergency responders from the Los Angeles Fire Department arrived at the scene, but the victim was pronounced dead shortly after their arrival.
Officer Miller, a spokesperson for the Los Angeles Police Department, confirmed the incident was a hit-and-run felony and told Key News Network that the victim was a 51-year-old man.
The Los Angeles Police Department had closed both the northbound and southbound lanes of Lindley Avenue near Napa Street as the investigation continued.
