ANGELES NATIONAL FOREST, Calif., Mar. 12 (KNN) — A body was discovered inside a van parked off to the right shoulder of a roadway in the Angeles National Forest late Monday night prompting an investigation.
Shortly after 10:30 p.m., the Los Angeles County Fire Department along with a Hazmat team responded to Mount Baldy Road and Shinn Road to assist the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department deputies from the San Dimas Station after the discovery of a body located inside what appears to be a minivan.
Once firefighters arrived on scene they located a van parked off to the right shoulder of Mount Baldy Road. Firefighters looked inside the vehicle, cleared the scene and turned the incident over to the sheriff’s department.
Deputies had established a crime scene with the area taped off for the investigation. It is currently unclear if the incident is a homicide investigation.
The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department reported that there is no further information regarding the incident at this time.
