Body Found Along 170 Freeway, Death Investigation Underway

SUN VALLEY, LOS ANGELES, Oct. 14 (KNN) — A body was discovered along the 170 Freeway Saturday evening prompting a response from the California Highway Patrol and personnel from the coroner’s office.

Shortly before 7:30 p.m., the CHP issued a Sig Alert on the 170 Freeway at the Roscoe Boulevard off-ramp in Sun Valley for a fatality.

The CHP reported an individual was found alongside the freeway off-ramp located within light brush. No vehicles were involved in this incident and it is not believed to be related to a traffic collision, according to preliminary information from the ongoing investigation.

The off-ramp was closed by CHP officers who worked with Los Angeles County Coroner personnel to help recover the body from the location. The body was then loaded into the coroner’s van and brought back to the medical examiner’s office to determine cause of death.

The gender and age of the deceased is currently unknown.

CHP remained at the scene investigating, with minimal delay of the reopening of the off-ramp.
