Body Found in Los Angeles Roadway; Death Investigation Underway

LOS ANGELES, Calif., Apr. 4 (KNN) — The Los Angeles Police Department is investigating the suspicious death of an individual found in the Broadway-Manchester neighborhood of Los Angeles Wednesday night.

LAPD officers from Southeast Division and the Los Angeles Fire Department originally responded to a call around 11:44 p.m. regarding a vehicle versus pedestrian collision at the intersection of South Broadway and West 111th Street.

The pedestrian was pronounced deceased at the scene by arriving first responders.

A vehicle and bicycle were observed in the crime scene area along with a privacy tent over the body.

However, upon further investigation, the LAPD said the incident is being investigated as a suspicious death, not a fatal traffic collision as initially reported.

It remains unclear why a bicycle and vehicle were seen at the location not far from the victim.

Due to the ongoing investigation, there are no further details at this time.
