EUREKA, Calif., Nov. 20 (KNN) — Overnight, a bomb cyclone brought heavy rain and powerful winds to Eureka, California (Humboldt County), causing widespread havoc.
Multiple trees fell, blocking roads and triggering numerous power outages across the area. A massive tree near Patrick’s Point State Park completely shut down a portion of Highway 101, which connects California to Oregon, blocking all four lanes.
Traffic was halted for over three hours as crews worked tirelessly to cut and clear the tree before reopening the highway.
Thousands of residents were left without power during the storm’s peak.
