Kobe Bryant, his daughter Gianna, 13, along with a few of her fellow basketball teammates, parents and friends all perished in a crash during foggy weather into a hillside above Calabasas, California. Nine people total were aboard the ill-fated flight headed for a second day of competition at Bryant’s training camp – the Mamba Sports Academy – in Newberry Park, according to sources.

Patrons of 8one8 Brewery located at 8953 De Soto Avenue, gathered for the unveiling of the statue and to celebrate Kobe’s life and the impact he made on so many lives.

The brewery was packed Thursday night with a boisterous, happy crowd, then around 8:30 p.m., they all fell into two minutes of silence for the deceased.

Antonio from Northridge who exhibits an exuberance for life, the Lakers and living in Los Angeles, was in attendance at the brewery for the celebration of Bryant’s life.

“Live life in the moment and just never take it for granted,” Antonio told Key News Network on camera at the location. He said he’s really lived life differently since this happened (to Kobe).

“It’s wild to think about how much a celebrity’s death can impact you … but a lot of people feel the same way.”
