The fire driven by strong winds and heavy fuel, quickly jumped the freeway and sparked a second blaze.

Fire crews were working to establish containment lines and are using dozers to remove some of the fire fuel.

According to the latest mapping by Intel 24, the fire is estimated at over 2,800 acres. At least one person has lost their mobile home due to the fire, according to authorities.

The Kern County Fire Department successfully evacuated two people and their dogs from the area. Efforts to control the fire are ongoing.
