Brush Fire Erupts Within Santa Clara Riverbed in Santa Clarita

SANTA CLARITA, Calif., Jan. 4 (KNN) — Los Angeles County firefighters battled a brush fire burning within the Santa Clara riverbed, north of Soledad Canyon Road and west of Langside Avenue near known homeless encampments.

The incident was reported to 911 operators shortly before 7:45 p.m. Friday, as a large fire burning in the riverbed near homes and businesses.

Arriving units found the fire in the riverbed area and requested additional resources for the location.

The fire was extinguished after about 25 minutes.

The cause remains under investigation at this time.
