CHINO, CA, June 29 (KNN) — A high-speed crash caught on a security camera early Thursday morning, left at least two patients hospitalized.
At approximately 1 a.m., the Chino Valley Fire Department responded to a traffic collision involving fire with one person trapped at Riverside Drive and Ramona Avenue in the city of Chino.
Nearby neighbors heard the crash, rushed to the scene and were able to free the driver from the Ford Mustang as the vehicle was catching fire.
Chino police officers responded and firefighters on scene doused the car fire.
The drivers of the Mustang and SUV were both transported to a local hospital in unknown conditions. It was not immediately known if any occupants in one or both vehicles were transported from the scene.
A nearby business security camera captured the white Mustang on video traveling westbound on Riverside Drive at high speeds when it T-Boned a black SUV at Ramona Avenue.
Pastor Ricky Reyna who has a church on Riverside Drive and lives in a house on the property, spoke with Key News Network at the scene and said his daughter alerted him to the collision after hearing a loud “boom.”
When the pastor looked outside, he saw a car on fire. At that point he said he “thanked God” that he has a 50-foot water hose. He then ran outside and immediately turned it on and “another guy came and he started hitting the windows [of the vehicle].” They were able to get the occupant out of the vehicle and water him down as the vehicle was burning.
Chino PD will be handling the investigation into the crash.
Key News Network was granted permission to publish the security camera video of the crash.
