SANTA CLARITA, Calif., Feb. 12 (KNN) — A child was rushed by helicopter to a pediatric trauma center after being struck by a vehicle early Monday morning in the Saugus neighborhood of Santa Clarita.
The incident occurred shortly before 7:40 a.m. outside Santa Clarita Elementary School near Seco Canyon Road and Decoro Drive.
Dispatchers from both the Sheriff’s Communications Center and Fire Command and Control requested units from the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station, Fire Station 111 and AMR to respond to the location.
The child was rushed to Central Park by ambulance with Engine and Paramedic Squad 111.
Copter 11, a Bell 412 belonging to the fire department’s Air Operations Section, arrived to Central Park shortly before 8 a.m.
The child and an additional person were both flown to a pediatric trauma center.
The child’s condition is not publicly known at this time.
