Victim Found Shot in Simi Valley, Subject Detained

SIMI VALLEY, VENTURA COUNTY, June 21 (KNN) – At approximately 5:13 p.m. Wednesday, Simi Valley police officers initially responded to a call of a child shot in the wash to the rear of an apartment building in the 1500 block of Patricia Avenue in Simi Valley. In an update regarding the incident Thursday afternoon, SVPD has determined the subject to be an adult, age not stated, in the department’s news release.

Detectives and crime scene investigators responded to the scene following the shooting.

In an update regarding the incident around 9 p.m., police officers stopped a vehicle occupied by a subject allegedly related to the shooting on Patricia Avenue. The subject was detained without incident.

On Thursday afternoon, the SVPD reported that a male adult subject had suffered a non-life-threatening gunshot wound and was transported to a local hospital.

The shooting resulted from a neighbor dispute, according to the department’s preliminary investigation.

The investigation is ongoing. No further information was available.
