Child Killed, Adult Injured in Vehicle Versus Pedestrian Collision in Pomona

POMONA, Calif., May 29 (KNN) — A child was fatally injured and an adult was hospitalized after being struck by a vehicle in the city of Pomona Tuesday evening.

Shortly after 8 p.m., Pomona police officers responded to the area of Towne and Lexington avenues for a vehicle versus pedestrian traffic collision. Arriving officers located two pedestrians laying in the roadway of Towne Avenue suffering from severe injuries, according to the Pomona Police Department in a news release of the incident.

The female adult was treated at the scene and transported to a local hospital.

“First responders performed life saving measures on the female child; however, the child succumbed to their injuries. The driver of the involved vehicle remained on scene and is cooperating with the investigation,” stated the Pomona PD in the news release.

The fatal collision is being investigated by Pomona PD’s Major Accident Investigation Team, according to the department.
