LONG BEACH, CA, June 12 (KNN) — Three juveniles were rescued through a second story window of an apartment where a shooting suspect is believed to be barricaded Monday night.
The incident unfolded earlier Monday evening when Los Angeles police officers began pursuing a shooting suspect vehicle somewhere within their city.
The vehicle reportedly crashed and a suspect ran into a nearby apartment building located on the northeast corner of Golden Avenue and West Melrose Way in Long Beach.
Police were still attempting to negotiate a safe surrender of the suspect late Monday night.
Long Beach firefighters assisted the three children down a ladder to safety. Their relation to the suspect is currently unknown.
Around 10:30 p.m., at least three males exited from the residence, one of whom was reportedly carrying a toddler. The three were observed being questioned while in handcuffs next to police patrol vehicles.
It is unclear which subject is the outstanding pursuit suspect.
This story is still active and developing.
