CHP Patrol Units Collide in Sherman Oaks While in Pursuit of Stolen Vehicle; Officers Injured

SHERMAN OAKS, LOS ANGELES, Feb. 17 (KNN) — While in pursuit of a stolen vehicle, two California Highway patrol units collided into each other leaving reportedly two officers hospitalized.

The pursuit originated in the Cal Poly Pomona area and made its way into the Sherman Oaks neighborhood around 11 p.m. Friday night.

Around that time, the suspect vehicle exited the northbound 405 Freeway at Ventura Boulevard where the two CHP patrol units involved in the chase collided into each other at the bottom of the off-ramp.

Two officers were reportedly hospitalized and their conditions are currently unknown. Key News Network video from the scene shows one officer being loaded into an ambulance.

Suspects involved with the vehicle theft were reported to be in custody.
