CHP Stops Truck With Stolen Plates Loaded With Illegal Fireworks

GLASSELL PARK, LOS ANGELES, June 22 (KNN) – Illegal fireworks were discovered when California Highway Patrol stopped a vehicle with stolen license plates early Thursday morning.

CHP East Los Angeles officers stopped a vehicle for reported stolen license plates at San Fernando Road and the 2 Freeway around 12:30 a.m.

After stopping the vehicle, CHP officers looked in the back of the truck and found multiple boxes of professional illegal fireworks as well as a firearm in the vehicle.

CHP asked for the Los Angeles Police Department’s Bomb Squad to respond and assist with discarding the fireworks.

Two subjects were arrested, but released at the location.
