Studio City, Los Angeles, CA: A man allegedly under the influence of an unknown substance was taken into custody after an hours-long standoff with police on the 3800 block of Reklaw Drive in Studio City.

The incident started at approximately 12:36 a.m. Saturday, Mar. 5, when police responded to reports of a man being combative and starting fires in a home at the location.

Los Angeles Police Department North Hollywood Division officers arrived at the scene and were able to take the man into custody at approximately 2:20 a.m.

Due to the combative nature of the suspect, a ballistic shield was used in the apprehension It is not known if anyone else was in the home at the time.

Los Angeles Fire Department paramedics transported the man by ambulance to Sherman Oaks Hospital.
