CASTAIC, Calif., Aug. 6 (KNN) — A vehicle flew off the I-5 and down an embankment leaving three of the four occupants dead late Monday afternoon.
A solo-vehicle crash was reported around 4:33 p.m. Monday on the southbound I-5 at Templin Highway in the Castaic area.
When paramedics arrived at the scene, they found one vehicle over the side about 25 feet off the roadway and three people were declared deceased at the scene. One patient was transported by ambulance to Henry Mayo Hospital in critical condition.
CHP requested for Caltrans to block the number 3 and 4 lanes while they continued with the investigation causing major back up for miles during rush hour.
Personnel with the County of Los Angeles Medical Examiner arrived at the location and additional fire department personnel was requested to retrieve the bodies from the vehicle.
The crash is still under investigation by CHP.
