Cyclist Shot on Bike Path in Sawtelle

Sawtelle, Los Angeles, CA: A male cyclist was shot on the bike path on Exposition Boulevard just west of Sepulveda Friday morning, Mar. 17, at approximately 12:18 a.m. in the Sawtelle neighborhood of Los Angeles.

Los Angeles Police Department West L.A. Division officers responded and located a victim suffering from a gunshot wound to the abdomen on the bike path.

The Los Angeles Fire Department informed officers at the scene that they had observed a possible suspect west of the shooting location on the bike path, while heading to the victim’s location.

LAPD responded to that suspect location and detained a male cyclist matching the suspect description.

It is unknown at this time if the person detained is actually the suspect in the shooting.

The male victim was transported to a local area hospital in unknown condition.

A bag of narcotics was also located at the shooting scene. There is no further information at this time.
