Suspect Fatally Shot by Deputy During Domestic Violence Investigation in Palmdale

Palmdale, Los Angeles County, CA: A Palmdale deputy with the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department discharged their firearm and fatally struck a suspect at the intersection of Oxford Drive and Avenue R-8 in the city of Palmdale at approximately 10:21 p.m. Friday, Feb. 10.

Deputies performed CPR on the suspect until AMR ambulance arrived at the scene.

“The suspect was transported to a local hospital and pronounced deceased,” stated the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department in a news release of the incident.

According to LASD, Palmdale Station deputies were responding to a domestic violence call on the 3700 block of Oxford Drive when during the investigation, “the suspect advanced toward deputies with an edged weapon and a deputy-involved shooting occurred.”

The weapon was recovered from the scene, LASD reported.

There is no additional information at this time as the Los Angeles County Homicide investigators continue with their investigation into the deputy-involved shooting.
